Viet Thai Noodle House

Today I went to Viet Thai Noodle House, a Vietnamese and Thai food restaurant in Pineville. When I went inside, the smell of spicy rice filled my nose. I sat down to eat at a booth. The menus were made of bamboo. There were several pages of food to eat. I looked at the page of rice dishes and saw a dish that I liked. I ordered a Pepsi and waited for the food. there it finally was: white rice with lemon chicken. The chicken was sweet and had cilantro and onions on it. It was really good and I hope to have it again some time. For dessert, I had a bubble tea ( a smoothie), mango flavored. It was foamy and had frozen blueberries in it. It was awesome!

Breakfast for Dinner

Today my family could not decide what to eat for dinner. We made a list and thought breakfast for dinner would be fun. I got pancakes with syrup with bacon and scrambled eggs. It was yummy and I hope to have it again. It is a fun family dinner everyone will enjoy.

BY THE WAY……

In under 3 days, I got 50 HITS!! Thank you guys sooooo much for checking out my blogs and I would love to see where this takes me and I love to hear what you guys have to say.

Buttermilk Pie

My mom is allergic to gluten. Most of my family eats gluten free foods. We got a nice recipe for buttermilk pie. I tried it and it is like sugar cookie pie! It is now my favorite dessert of all time. The only thing is that it is super sweet and you can also only have one piece before you want to throw up from the richness. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5. BEST DESSERT EVER!

Lanita Franklin’s Buttermilk Pie – chef at Yesterday Café:

1 ¾ cups of sugar

¼ cup of flour (or gluten free flour)

1 Tbsp vanilla

3 eggs beaten

1/3 cup melted butter (or 5 Tbsp)

¾ cup buttermilk

The key to correctly making the pie is mixing each ingredient in one at a time, whisking thoroughly. Start by combining the sugar and flour completely. Then, add the vanilla and whisk well. Beat the eggs well and add, whisking well. Whisk in the butter, then the buttermilk. Whisk it all well – it will feel thicker than it looks. Whisk one last time, then pour into an unbaked 9” pie shell. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes – for a perfect pie, use a convection oven (a standard oven will work, but not quite as well). The pie is done when the middle will barely shake and the crust is golden to light brown with a little flakiness.

Enjoy!

Zapata’s Mexican Restaurant

When I went to this family- friendly  restaurant, my nose filled with the smell of cooked onions and sizzling steak. I had been here before, so I recognized everything. I was sent to my table with a friendly hostess and I was given warm chips and salsa. I ordered my soda and looked at my menu. There were few choices (kids menus), but I chose something not on the menu. I ordered and waited a short while for my food to come. There it was. A large bowl of Mexican rice. I loved rice with vegetables like onions and green pepper. My parents chose fajitas for two and I took chicken and steak off of their plate and put it on my rice. The sizzling juices mixed with my rice for a more flavorful taste. Once I finished, I ate warm chips with guacamole  and queso for the first time. I would have never thought something could taste this fresh. The guacamole was like eating a vegetable garden! The queso was warm and had bits of pepper in it. We also got take-out for my brother. He got a beef taco. On Sundays, kids eat free. It was a great meal that everyone can enjoy. I would give this a 5 out of 5 stars for the review. I think this is the best way to spend a night out eating.
